The Pact 2 is a poor movie sequel or not. The pacing is deadly slow, no pun intended, and the suspense terribly limited with an incredibly predictable finale that I suspected within the first few minutes. This is one movie destined for the cheap bin and for good reason. The video and audio transfers are decent enough while the special features are limited.

PLOT SYNOPSIS
Picking up only a few weeks after the events where the last film left off, this sequel finds June Abbott (CAMILLA LUDDINGTON) plagued by nightmares of murder so awful that they disturb her waking life. Meanwhile, a copycat of the Judas Killer has been terrorizing her neighborhood, and when the FBI agent (PATRICK FISCHLER) assigned to the case informs her of the danger, June is horrified to discover the actions of his new killer mirror the bloody visions she’s been having in her sleep. Determined to pursue her own investigation even while her grip on reality weaken, June sets off on a quest that may lead her to the horrifying truth of the Judas Killer’s master plan.
SPECIAL FEATURES – 1.5/5
Not much included save for “The Dark Hereafter” Making of (17:41; HD) featurette and a Trailer (1:50; HD).
VIDEO – 4.0/5
MPI Media Group releases The Pact 2 onto Blu-ray with a 1080p high-definition transfer (MPEG-4 AVC codec) and in its original 1.78 widescreen aspect ratio. Like many indie flicks, this has an almost television look with flat colors though details are OK even though there is an almost waxy appearance in some instances. Still, it’s a fine transfer just nothing that has much of a pop.
AUDIO – 3.75/5
The movie comes with both a 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio and 2.0 PCM tracks. The primary one (5.1) offers OK depth with good dialogue levels throughout while the LFE channel does kick in a few times for added impact. However, it’s not an entirely impressive track with limited depth probably due to the film’s limited budget. As a whole, it’s fine but doesn’t amount to much compared to the standard Dolby Digital sound.
OVERALL – 2.5/5
Overall, The Pact 2 is a poor movie sequel or not. The pacing is deadly slow, no pun intended, and the suspense terribly limited with an incredibly predictable finale that I suspected within the first few minutes. This is one movie destined for the cheap bin and for good reason. The video and audio transfers are decent enough while the special features are limited.
