PLOT SYNOPSIS

A couple (KEIRA KNIGHTLEY, MATTHEW GOODE) invite their closest friends to join their family for Christmas dinner at their idyllic home in the English countryside. As the group comes together, it feels like old times — but behind all of the laughter and merriment, something isn’t quite right. The world outside is facing impending doom, and no amount of gifts, games or wine can make mankind’s imminent destruction go away. Surviving the holidays just got a lot more complicated.

RLJE Films releases Silent Night onto Blu-ray and is presented with a 2.39 widescreen aspect ratio and a 1080p high-definition transfer. Seeing as this is a pretty pitch black dark comedy, the look of the film is more on the darker side of spectrum though daylight scenes did have some brightness to them. Skin tones appear well balanced and there were no apparent signs of artifacts, aliasing or other flaws.

The disc comes with a DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 track which is serviceable for a movie that is mostly dialogue along with some decent depth for the various ambient noises. Nothing incredible but satisfying enough for a movie like this.
