PLOT SYNOPSIS

Nick (LESLIE ODOM, JR.) and Janine (CYNTHIA ERIVO) live in bliss until her ex Tommy (ORLANDO BLOOM) warps time to try to tear them apart by using Nick’s old girlfriend, Alex (FREIDA PINTO). As Nick’s memories and reality disappear, he must decide what he’s willing to sacrifice to save — or let go of — everything he loves.

SPECIAL FEATURES – 2/5

This release comes with a glossy slip cover and inside is a redemption code for the Digital HD copy. Not much here, just The Form of a Circle: Making Needle in a Timestack (21:17) behind-the-scenes featurette and a few Deleted Scenes (6:07).

VIDEO – 4¼/5

Lionsgate releases Needle in a Timestack onto Blu-ray and is presented with a 2.39 widescreen aspect ratio and a 1080p high-definition transfer. Although this is a new movie, I can’t say this was a brilliant looking picture, however detail on close-ups are relatively sharp and colors are well balanced, although it is geared more toward darker, richer tones than anything especially bright.

AUDIO – 4/5

The movie comes with a DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 which is more than serviceable for a movie like this. Dialogue comes across with good clarity and there is some depth, such as when the time-wave passes through, plus some ambient noises of the office or a swanky party.
