PLOT SYNOPSIS

Preppie California valley girl Julie (JESSICA ROTHE) meets edgy punk rocker Randy (JOSH WHITEHOUSE) from Hollywood and they fall madly in love despite their many differences. Set against a backdrop of the early 1980s rock scene of southern California, this Romeo & Juliet type of romance pits the friends, family and culture of the girl against the friends, family and culture of the boy. Can Julie and Randy overcome the different worlds they come from to find lasting love?

SPECIAL FEATURES – 0/5

This release comes with a semi-glossy slip cover and inside is a redemption code for the Digital HD copy. No features were included.

VIDEO – 4½/5

Warner Brothers releases Valley Girl, presented with a 1.85 widescreen aspect ratio and given a 1080p high-definition transfer. As most of the film takes place in the 1980s, the colors flash off the screen with great vibrancy, lots of hot pinks and yellows galore along with the rocking outfits and hairstyles. Detail comes across with good sharpness and all around this is a pleasant looking picture.

AUDIO – 4½/5

The included DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 track shows off the numerous musical numbers quite effectively, making use of every channel. The center channel is relegated for the dialogue which comes across with good clarity and the rear speakers output some ambient noises such as at parties or in the school.
