PLOT SYNOPSIS |
Over the course of a late summer’s day in the fabled resort town of Sintra, Portugal, three generations have gathered for a vacation organized by the family matriarch, Frankie (ISABELLE HUPPERT). In this fairy tale setting, husbands and wives, parents and children, and friends and lovers – stirred by their romantic impulses – discover the cracks between them, as well as unexpected depths of feeling. |
SPECIAL FEATURES – 1.75/5 |
Not a whole lot here with a Q&A (27:49) with Director Ira Sachs and Actress Isabelle Huppert at Cinépolis and the Theatrical Trailer (2:05). |
VIDEO – 4.0/5 |
Sony Pictures releases Frankie onto Blu-ray presented in its original 1.66 widescreen aspect ratio and given a 1080p high-definition transfer. The picture here really showcases the beautiful Portuguese landscape and scenery, detail is fairly sharp and colors are vibrant and bright throughout. |
AUDIO – 3.5/5 |
The included DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 track is serviceable for a drama, where the bulk of the audio comes through the center channel with ambient noises and off-screen elements, like crowd chatter, make up the front and rear speakers. |
