There’s probably a reason Protocol isn’t exactly a memorable entry in Goldie Hawn’s résumé from the 1980s as it’s not exactly laugh-out-loud funny but at least excels on her charms more so than the writing or plot.

What stands out with this release is that it’s finally available in anamorphic widescreen where the original release is out of print and any new copies out there probably is full frame (1.33). As it is, not bad looking but there are heavy bouts of grain and colors are more on the muted side.
The movie comes equipped with a very low key, a bit too low key, Dolby Digital Surround track. While the score came through well enough, dialogue was quite soft to the point it was difficult to discern some words. |
OVERALL – 2.5/5 |
Overall, there’s probably a reason Protocol isn’t exactly a memorable entry in Goldie Hawn’s résumé from the 1980s as it’s not exactly laugh-out-loud funny but at least excels on her charms more so than the writing or plot. This DVD release from Warner’s archive site doesn’t have any features but at least now includes an anamorphic widescreen video transfer. |
