Where Deadly Prey was so bad its good, Deadliest Prey is just plain bad and could really be considered a remake with a very similar plot and generally the same shots (not to mention virtually the same type of opening credits). Perhaps others might get something out of this turkey, I myself will never revisit it.

PLOT SYNOPSIS

Will Mike Danton (TED PRIOR) ever learn to let someone else take out the garbage? Kidnapped from in front of his home while emptying the trash, Danton finds himself back in familiar territory as prey in Hogan’s (DAVID CAMPBELL) twisted game of cat & mouse.

It’s obvious that Hogan is also a slow learner. When will he understand not to mess with Danton, a U.S. Marine who learned to be “all that he could be” in ‘Nam?

SPECIAL FEATURES – 2.0/5

Deadly Prey: 27 Years Later (16:37) is a collection of interviews with Ted Prior, David A. Prior, David Campbell and Fritz Matthews.

VIDEO – 2.75/5

Released only two years ago, Deadliest Prey doesn’t look great but needless to say, it is far superior over its predecessor, Deadly Prey. Presented with a 1.78 widescreen aspect ratio and a 1080p high-definition transfer. Colors aren’t bad and it is clean of scratches and dirt but detail is still lacking and it’s just not a generally good looking picture.

AUDIO – 2.5/5

The DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 track is more of the same, not great nor especially terrible, but it is lackluster, lacks any depth, not dynamic and you can definitely tell the limited budget as the sound design was noticeably bland. Again, it’s a step up from Deadly Prey but that wouldn’t have taken much.

OVERALL – 1.75/5

Overall, where Deadly Prey was so bad its good, Deadliest Prey is just plain bad and could really be considered a remake with a very similar plot and generally the same shots (not to mention virtually the same type of opening credits). Perhaps others might get something out of this turkey, I myself will never revisit it.
