Werewolf Rising is the latest direct-to-video schlocker with substandard effects, so-so acting and just an all around cheap looking movie which would be fine if not for an ineffective story. The DVD released by RLJ Entertainment is pretty basic with only a static menu with only options are to play or scene selection; no features were included, though not sure that’s a bad thing.

Desperate for a break from big city life, Emma (MELISSA CARNELL) heads to her family’s cabin deep in the Arkansas hills. Settling in for some much needed R&R, she learns that something unspeakable lurks in the surrounding darkness. Thrown into a fight for her life, and her very soul, Emma will need to escape these big bad wolves before it’s too late.
SPECIAL FEATURES – 0/5
Other than some previews for other RLJ Entertainment titles, there’s nothing on this disc.
VIDEO – 3.0/5 | AUDIO – 2.75/5
Werewolf Rising howls onto DVD presented with an anamorphic widescreen transfer which is serviceable but unremarkable. The Dolby Digital 5.1 is a bit heavy and aggressive but dialogue was clear enough although it did top out due to inferior recording equipment.
OVERALL – 1.0/5
Overall, Werewolf Rising is the latest direct-to-video schlocker with substandard effects, so-so acting and just an all around cheap looking movie which would be fine if not for an ineffective story. The DVD released by RLJ Entertainment is pretty basic with only a static menu with only options are to play or scene selection; no features were included, though not sure that’s a bad thing.
