Outpost: Rise of the Spetsnaz is actually a decent little horror-thriller combining Nazis and zombies for a third time in this series (which honestly I had never heard of). The DVD release by Xlator doesn’t have much going for it with only a trailer and merely adequate video and audio transfers.

THE MOVIE
Plot Outline: In the third installment of the hit Nazi zombie action-horror franchise, Outpost: Rise of the Spetsnaz, discover the horrifying origins of these supernatural soldiers as they battle the most ruthless and notorious of all military Special Forces – the Russian Spetsnaz – in their quest for absolute power.
SPECIAL FEATURES – 0.5/5
The only feature included is the trailer (1:44).
VIDEO – 3.5/5 | AUDIO – 3.0/5
Outpost 3 arrives on DVD presented with a 1.78 anamorphic widescreen transfer and looks like a low budget horror flick so it’s not the prettiest picture, and at times soft, but perfectly serviceable.
The Dolby Digital 5.1 track is OK but nothing profound with clear dialogue levels while on-screen effects aren’t exactly dynamic.
OVERALL – 2.5/5
Overall, Outpost: Rise of the Spetsnaz is actually a decent little horror-thriller combining Nazis and zombies for a third time in this series (which honestly I had never heard of). The DVD release by Xlator doesn’t have much going for it with only a trailer and merely adequate video and audio transfers.
