Girls vs. Gangsters is the Chinese female version of The Hangover with even humor that’s not as funny (and to be fair, The Hangover is vastly overrated) and honestly was a chore to sit through. Just skip.
Wolf Warrior 2, amazingly, is one of the highest grossing movies of all-time taking in $854 million in China, the second highest in any single market behind Star Wars: The Force Awakens. As for the movie itself, it’s entertaining enough for sure though nothing really separates it from others in the genre either.
Memories of the Sword is just your run-of-the-mill fantasy martial arts flick, the kind I’ve seen too many times. The lead actress isn’t bad but otherwise it’s a forgettable film. The Blu-ray released through Well Go USA offers good video and audio transfers, well adequate enough anyway, but falls far short in the bonus material department.
Commitment is a half-decent martial arts movie with some good fight scenes and a semi-coherant and compelling story with a fine primary character. The Blu-ray release from Well Go USA doesn’t have much in the bonus material arena with a thin ‘making-of’ featurette while the audio and video transfers are both excellent.
