Suspiria is one interesting film that does take aspects of Dario Argento’s 1977 original and adds a little bit of a spin of it, including an absolutely bananas finale which in some respects was actually better, or at the very least more memorable.
The Deep End is a mostly well acted drama-thriller with Tilda Swinton giving a great performance while Goran Visnjic, attempting to follow in the footsteps of “ER” alum George Clooney, seems out of place but gives it his best. The catalog Blu-ray released by Fox has so-so audio/video transfers and an acceptable selection of features ported over from the DVD version.
Adaptation is a, well, interesting viewing experience. It’s a film propelled by a fantastic screenplay and incredible performances from Nicolas Cage (who deserved the Oscar), Meryl Streep and Chris Cooper. The Blu-ray offers up good video and audio transfers and although the features are lacking, if you can pick this up for less than $10 and are a fan, then it’s worth picking up.
