Transformers: Dark of the Moon is hardly the high point of action but I must admit that I actually mostly enjoyed this installment possibly because the previous sequel was so bad that it made this film look like Citizen Kane. In any case, once again the visual effects are incredible and the story was at least acceptable.

Super 8 is yet another well made film by rising filmmaker/maestro J.J. Abrams, a solid follow-up to the sci-fi reboot/re-imagining of Star Trek. The movie is certainly a nostalgic trip back to the 80s but Abrams puts his own stamp on it. With regards to the Blu-ray, it’s the best looking and certainly best sounding movie I’ve encountered this year and a good set of features, making this a worthwhile purchase.

The Jurassic Park: Ultimate Trilogy is far from perfect but with one great film, one entertaining film and another with squandered potential, this is still a worthwhile set to add to anyone’s collection. The features have all been ported over and even include a well-made six-part documentary (which totals 130 minutes in length). The video is a bit disappointing but the audio is excellent.
