NCIS: Season 15 is hardly the best in the long-running series nor the best written, but I still generally enjoyed the season and Maria Bello seems like a nice addition, though hopefully she’ll stick around beyond a couple of years.
The first Grown Ups movie wasn’t anything special but it did provide a few laughs and a relatively coherent plot, Grown Ups 2 on the other hand has no real plot to speak of but worst of all, there’s no real laughs and seeing this cast back together is hardly enough to hold the film together. I’m not sure where the old Adam Sandler went but based on his recent track record, I’m afraid he’s gone for good
To say the least, Abduction is not a very good movie, the acting from Lautner is pretty bad (and at best just OK) while the talented supporting cast can’t overcome a lame script and overwrought storyline. The action sequences are all fairly average but at the same time I at least found some of it to be entertaining even when things get bad.
The Company Men is an engrossing drama that gets into the more personal elements of the 2008 financial collapse. The performances while nothing outstanding or award-worthy, are more than adequate especially from Ben Affleck whom I feel is still underappreciated. As far as the Blu-ray goes, the video and audio transfers are good but the features leave much to be desired.
