, The Front Runner from a technical and acting standpoint is a perfectly fine movie. But the issue comes from the fact it’s not all that important, or at least as important as the filmmakers want it to be, with the ideas presented.
It’s a shame Columbus Circle wasn’t better as it has a good cast and, at its core, at least an interesting premise. Although the script does them no favors, I give a pass to the cast as they seem to struggle through stilted dialogue and contrived situations, especially a finale that flies in the face of what we watched before. Even so, I found this to be passable entertainment and enough for a quick watch on a weekend where there’s nothing else on.
The Big Year isn’t a bad film by any stretch but boy oh boy was it boring. I’m not much of a bird person and I think the filmmakers geared this more toward that crowd but for others, you might feel left out. Even so, it’s still disappointing given the cast they manage to gather together especially the three leads.

Indian Summer is a great film that hits all the right notes. It not only brings out the nostalgia for anybody who has attended summer camp but the story is well rounded with the right balance of comedy and drama. The cast is also pitch perfect with the highlights coming from Bill Paxton, Diane Lane and Alan Arkin.
Hostage is an effective enough thriller with Willis fitting into his role of a worn out veteran cop like a glove, heck probably better than in Live Free or Die Hard even, but the story itself doesn’t quite past muster despite some decent performances from the supporting cast.
Picture This isn’t nearly as terrible of a film as I expected but needless to say, it’s also not a very good one either. Tisdale is good in the lead but the story is really farfetched, too much so in fact, and some of the situations they girls are put in are ridiculous and beyond the whole suspension of disbelief. However, I did manage to laugh a few times which is more than I can say for other quick and cheap films targeted at teens.
