If there’s such a thing as a breezy thriller, Crawl would be it. There might not be much of a story but I was at least moderately entertained thanks to Kaya Scodelario’s physically demanding performance and thus this is probably worthy of a rental.
Unlike the recently released Transformers: The Last Knight, which was a dull movie in itself, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales was at least passably boring and was mercifully only two hours long. But like Transformers, this franchise just needs to come to a close as neither is very creative or, worse yet, entertaining.
It’s understandable why fans of the novels hate The Scorch Trials adaptation but as someone who isn’t attached to the books in any way, I found it acceptable and entertaining enough. Sure, the film does have its problems especially with the pacing and bloated story taking it over the two hour mark, yet at the same time I don’t regret seeing it.
