The Specials has some aspects of a young James Gunn personality though the humor is a bit raw as is the plot, which was done better in 1999’s Mystery Men.

Can’t say The Assault was a movie I had high expectations for although I had hoped it at least was a middling action-thriller but alas it was just another poorly made direct-to-video flick.
