Resident Evil might be the mediocre beginning of what would become a six movie franchise, but I did like Milla Jovovich in the lead as the material fits her skill set pretty well and there’s just enough to make it watchable.
Momentum isn’t a very good movie but clocking in under 90-minutes, it’s fine for a slow Saturday night. However, my biggest gripe isn’t with the acting, stunts and the like but with the story and how they attempt to make this the first movie of a series; considering the lackluster (to say the least) box office, I doubt a sequel is forthcoming.
“The Following”: The Complete First Season had plenty of potential with fine performances, a decent enough story but it’s squandered with inept characters and frustrating subplots that are more filler and don’t go anywhere. Still, it’s not a complete waste of time and with only 15 episodes, is at least worth the time commitment if only for Kevin Bacon and James Purefoy.
