Baby Boom was one of many working woman movies of the mid-to-late 80s but does feature a wonderful performance by Diane Keaton and it’s never a bad thing to see Harold Ramis.
This Ghostbusters two-film set is not perfect but it’s pretty close with a decent selection of bonus material, though the MST3K-style commentary is still only a DVD exclusive but the audio and video transfers for both films are great. Given the low SRP, this is a set worth picking up if only to have it in one package.
Ghostbusters is a fantastic sci-fi/supernatural comedy which has stood the test of time quite well and is just as entertaining when I first saw it back in the 1980s. As far as this “Mastered in 4K” re-release, I will say the video is most certainly a big improvement over the original Blu-ray release. However, the audio is the same and none of the features were ported over so you’ll have to decide if the improved picture is worth the $15 price tag.
National Lampoon’s Vacation is as funny as ever with a great cast, hilarious jokes and an all around fun storyline filled with a mix of low-brow and even, for the time, risqué humor. The Blu-ray however might include the enthralling “Inside Story” documentary but I don’t believe the video has been remastered and is probably the same transfer as the 2010 release.
