If you don’t have anything else on the shelf for your kids to watch, then Hop might be worth a rental. If you don’t have kids, then skip it completely. The Blu-ray doesn’t amount to much either with light/fluffy features though the video and audio transfers are good.

The Smurfs is certainly not a very good movie but it did provide a few laughs – which is more than I can say about The Hangover Part II – and the animation, while nothing special, is still decent enough. The Blu-ray offers up a fair amount of features (albeit EPK-like in substance) but the audio and video both are excellent.

Love & Other Drugs is propelled by the leads rather than the story. I give major credit for the brave performances by Anne Hathaway and Jake Gyllenhaal as they don’t go overboard with characters that could’ve been walking movie clichés. Now, the script itself is serviceable but nothing special, in fact it sticks pretty closely to the formula. As for the Blu-ray, it excels in the video department, has a good audio track while the features are more to be desired.
