House on Haunted Hill actually was an okay flick for the first two-thirds which had some nice and sometimes spooky atmosphere aided by some nice set designs, but all that is thrown out the window with a finale that was so dumb combined with some laughable visual effects.

Unlike the recently released Transformers: The Last Knight, which was a dull movie in itself, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales was at least passably boring and was mercifully only two hours long. But like Transformers, this franchise just needs to come to a close as neither is very creative or, worse yet, entertaining.

Gods of Egypt has its moments but as a whole it’s not well made in spite of a talented enough filmmaker in Alex Proyas and a respectable cast, in particular Gerard Butler hamming it up to great effect; not to mention lovely actresses Elodie Yung and Courtney Eaton as love interests to the two leads. This is probably worth a rental, not much more.

Minions is a harmless but still average film that kids will certainly love. That said, this is something that probably would’ve worked better as a short for either a TV special or showing prior to the eventual Despicable Me 3 theatrical release.

I don’t think The Warrior’s Way is a particularly bad film but it is one that was done a bit amateurishly despite the acting talents of Geoffrey Rush and Danny Huston. In regards to the Blu-ray, the features are forgettable but the audio and video transfers are both excellent so the few fans there are for the film, and they are fairly vocal, will certainly enjoy the experience.
