The second season of “Friends” is actually better than the first with some great storylines, like the Ross/Rachel relationship getting ratcheted up and Monica getting involved with an older man. The comedy is gold and you begin to see how the series would run as long as it did. The Blu-ray is light in features but the video and audio transfers are on the acceptable level and are on par with what’s seen on TBS syndication.

Often times, when series with ensemble casts start, they have a difficult time devoting time to each character but in this case the premiere was fantastic and the success continued through the season finale. The Blu-ray is light in features but the video and audio transfers are on the acceptable level and are on par with what’s seen on TBS syndication.

Much like the “DreamWorks Spooky Stories” released a few weeks back, this Holiday collection is great for the entire family. It’s especially cool to get the main actors to reprise their roles for the animated shorts while the animation looks amazing. The audio/video transfers are great and a fine upgrade over the DVD versions. It’s light on features but if you can snag this for under $10, then it would be worth it.

Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted is a fun, light-hearted, comedy-adventure flick that both parents and kids will enjoy. The Blu-ray combo set has a fine set of features to keep one busy for a couple of hours and excellent audio/video transfers. This is a no-brainer and blind-buy if you haven’t seen it, purchase especially if you already own the first two movies.
