An interesting collaboration with producer Roger Corman and a young Martin Scorsese (subsequent films would define his career from Mean Streets to Raging Bull) and while the direction is solid, the performances are what makes Boxcar Bertha memorable, headlined by the David Carradine.

Bound for Glory isn’t a fantastic movie and it is a bit long in the tooth at nearly two and a half hours but Guthrie as a person and his journey was interesting combined with an amazing performance from the always charismatic David Carradine does make for a worthwhile viewing.

Q: The Winged Serpent is a fun little B-movie from the early 80s featuring some bad special effects, though this is part of the film’s charm and why it’s garnered somewhat of a cult following over the years. Shout! Factory releases Q on Blu-ray with acceptable, at best, audio and video transfers while the features are limited not even including some sort of retrospective featurette.
