Stretch is a movie that unfortunately gone under the radar thanks to it going straight to streaming (before it routine) six years ago. Patrick Wilson is pitch-perfect in the lead and Chris Pine shows off his comedic prowess.
Results is a quirky if not uneven romantic comedy with a couple fine performances, particularly Kevin Corrigan and Guy Pearce. The writing isn’t the best and by the end I can’t say it’s very memorable either way. The Blu-ray released by Magnolia is basic with slim bonus material and good video/audio transfers.
Battleship is what’s wrong with Hollywood. I have no problem with movies with mindless, simple plot-lines but at least show some effort rather than throwing $200M+ at the screen and hope people merely call it good. With the Blu-ray, it at least provides for excellent audio/video transfers and there’s a fair amount of features to give background on how it was made.
Just Go With It might’ve sounded good on paper, or at least on the stage since it is based on a play, but the practicality of it even within the romantic-comedy realm just doesn’t add up. We have two characters that we’re supposed to like, and in fact at times do, but when you take a step back, their actions make no sense.
