Cat People is another weird and certainly unusual cult classic released through Shout’s Scream Factory line. The Blu-ray offers up adequate if not, at least to these eyes, over sharpened picture, and solid lossless audio tracks (5.1 and 2.0). The bonus features may seem light but with more than 45-minutes worth of interviews, it’s actually well put together getting every viewpoint on the project.

“Smallville” The Final Season is hardly perfect and there’s still issues with the writing, but I thought the season long plot and the forwarding of the Clark and Lois relationship makes this a solid year and far better than the ninth season. The Blu-ray has good video and audio transfers but the features once again fall short.

48 Hrs is a great buddy-action flick but not because of the story but, like others in the genre, the dynamic between the two leads. Both Nick Nolte and Eddie Murphy do a great job bouncing off one another which provides for some good laughs mixed in with well done chases. Unfortunately, the Blu-ray doesn’t do either of them justice as the, specifically, video transfer is pretty bad with only a couple of scenes that actually looks like its high-def while everything else is blotchy.
