I hate reality TV and I’m tired of zombie movies and Fight of the Living Dead manages to combine the two to make for an annoying series that I’m sure a certain segment will like, myself I won’t think about it ever again. The DVD released by Cinedigm is light on substantive features but I guess it’s better than nothing.

THE MOVIE/SERIES

A competition series with horror overtones, Fight of the Living Dead is an unprecedented mash-up of the reality and scripted genres. The show will follow 8 top YouTube stars as they attempt to survive the first 24 hours of a highly simulated zombie apocalypse. The only prize is survival.

SPECIAL FEATURES – 1.5/5

We get a Behind the Scenes (4:34) featurette, Profiles on Iman Crosson, Jesse and Jeana, Joey Graceffa, Justine Ezarik and Meghan Camarena and the Trailer (1:18).

VIDEO – 3.0/5 | AUDIO – 3.0/5

Cinedigm releases FOTD onto DVD presented with a 1.78 anamorphic widescreen aspect ratio and while nothing impressive, looks OK though colors are drab in keeping the reality TV-like cinematography. The Dolby Digital 5.1 track is also alright providing for clear dialogue but it’s all very basic and mostly kept through the center channel with minimal ambient noises.

OVERALL – 2.0/5

I hate reality TV and I’m beyond tired of zombie movies and Fight of the Living Dead manages to combine the two to make for an annoying series that I’m sure a certain segment will like, myself I won’t think about it ever again. The DVD released by Cinedigm is light on substantive features but I guess it’s better than nothing.
