Taylor Swift: Journey to Fearless is a good documentary mixed in with some fun concert footage. Obviously this isn’t going to be some hard-hitting feature but it does give insight into her life and the work done to get to that point in her career. The Blu-ray has a fine video transfer and great a great audio track making this a worthwhile purchase especially for her fans.

Join Taylor Swift on her first headlining tour as she celebrates the success of her multiplatinum album Fearless. Packed with 13 incredible live performances, rare home movies and revealing interviews with Taylor and her inner circle, this concert special will take you from her earliest days as an aspiring singer-songwriter, through the stories that inspired her biggest songs, and finally to her triumphant arrival as a global superstar.
Taylor Swift: Journey to Fearless is actually an interesting look at this down to earth girl as she developed into one of the biggest singers around today. I enjoyed how they intercut between, and within, her on-stage performance with the home video footage or interviews talking about the song or other tidbits about singing on stage in front of large crowds. Now, I personally don’t mind her music, I don’t exactly seek out any of her albums however, but I think her staunchest fans will love this and even those who are merely passersby will appreciate the work she and those around her put into where she is today.
As for the concert itself, the footage is pretty standard, as is the stage, but it’s still fun to watch and see the stage presence she has at such a young age and how the sky is unlimited for her and to see where she goes as she grows up.
Here is a list of the songs that appear on the Blu-ray:
- You Belong With Me
- Tim McGraw
- Fifteen
- Teardrops on My Guitar
- Our Song
- Today Was a Fairytale
- Love Story
- Hey Stephen
- Tell Me Why
- Fearless
- Forever & Always
- Picture to Burn
- Should’ve Said No

PACKAGING
The Blu-ray comes in a standard slim case and a glossy, reflective slip cover.
SPECIAL FEATURES – 0/5
There are not really any features but you can select to watch by song or watch the documentaries as well as a play all option. I would’ve liked to have seen something on here, but since the documentary is good, it’s not a big deal.

VIDEO – 4.0/5
Journey to Fearless is presented with a 1080i high-def transfer and 1.78 widescreen aspect ratio. While I can hardly say this is an amazing looking picture as it doesn’t quite pop off the screen, it still looks pretty damn good. Detail levels throughout are good and I didn’t notice much in the way of pixilation or artifacting. Black levels are also fairly impressive because often that’s where any imperfections could show up.

AUDIO – 4.5/5
The disc contains a DTS-HD MA 5.1 track that really amplifies and puts you at the concert venue. I always say that the concert footage usually benefits the most from high-definition between this, Pink: Funhouse Tour and Rihanna: Good Girl Gone Bad. The songs reverberate through the room with depth and clarity. Meanwhile, the dialogue when we cut to the documentary, albeit not great, is still clear enough for my ears.
OVERALL – 3.0/5
Overall, Taylor Swift: Journey to Fearless is a good documentary mixed in with some fun concert footage. Obviously this isn’t going to be some hard-hitting feature but it does give insight into her life and the work done to get to that point in her career. The Blu-ray has a fine video transfer and great a great audio track making this a worthwhile purchase especially for her fans.
