Scream 4 might’ve come a few years too late after the last installment, but I for one enjoyed it as Wes Craven and company were able to update the franchise for the 21st century. The original cast slips into their roles nicely while the new generation offer up a certain and needed freshness, though writer Williamson didn’t succumb to the horror sequel clichés (though there a few).

As far as creature features go, Mimic is a well made movie, but little more than that. The characters are fairly one-dimensional despite the attempts in fleshing them out, though it was enough to give reason for at least the two main something to fight for. The effects and creature designs aren’t anything spectacular yet still evoke enough fear to give them weight and danger.

“Nikita” The Complete First Season is one hell of a ride. There’s plenty of kick ass action by a sexy lead actress, some decent writing, interesting storylines and adequate to good acting from the main cast. The Blu-ray has some expansive features (more so than most TV series get today), sharp-looking video and lossless audio which, while it won’t knock your socks off, still sounds great.

“Criminal Minds” Season 6 isn’t nearly the best the series has had to offer but it’s still pretty damn entertaining. The writing is crisp and given the turmoil of two main cast members making their exits, I’m impressed that they were to keep some consistency. Like the seasons 3-5, we get more and more team-centric character arcs to balance the crime-drama stories.

I wasn’t nearly as impressed with Dressed to Kill as others have since it doesn’t offer much mystery and the psychological elements which De Palma is normally a master of (look no further than Blow Out), isn’t very enticing either. I guess Angie Dickinson and Nancy Allen excelled in their roles as Michael Caine, while not entirely remarkable, still manages to turn in a sufficient performance.
