The film takes a dramatic shift in tone 45 minutes into it – what was once a comical romp now turns into a full-blown action film. Thankfully I was able to adjust to the dramatic shift but I can see how it might put off some people.

I’m trying to figure out what went wrong with District 9. I’ve taken into consideration the fact that nearly everyone who’s seen it has told me how much they liked it. I’ve taken into consideration the fact that normally I hate everything everyone likes. I’ve even taken into consideration the fact that I’ve been on a hating streak of movies as of late.

It’s hard to believe that despite all the buzz that Jennifer’s Body received, mainly about this being Megan Fox’s big solo role away from those giant machines, it still flopped in theaters and performed well-below industry expectations. The flick managed to gross under $20 million worldwide its entire theatrical run, which caused concern not only for her career but also writer Diablo Cody’s as well. Thankfully, I’m here to tell you that this horror flick is actually more bite than bark and is a fun horror movie with violence. Oh, and Megan Fox is in it.

I’m being gracious by giving this film half a star, as though it was probably one of the worst movies I’ve seen in at least two days. The phenomenon that was Mike Judge is no more, as the last few of his flicks have tanked at the box-office and also with movie-goers all around. The characters suck, the jokes suck, and Ben Affleck’s character is slightly amusing.

Let me preface this review by saying that Ashley Greene is unbelievably gorgeous. You may read during this review, many times if I counted right, that I say she is incredibly cute. Oh, and she’s in this movie called Summer’s Moon about… something important but I forget because Greene is hot.

Well, here comes another trailer for you folks. I saw this before Sherlock Holmes (review coming soon) and, um, well you check it you for yourself…

A simple plot seemingly went a long way with this film since it made a ton of dough at the box office. And while some of it is clearly warranted, I really don’t see how this became the smash-hit with people calling it the best film of 2009.

I vaguely remember a conversation with a friend of mine when The Hangover was released, and the conversation was about how I thought the movie would be a complete bomb. The fact that the cast was relatively unknown, the premise seemed ridiculous, and also it just didn’t appear to be funny to me from the trailers were the main reasons I considered it to flop. Little did I know that the film would go on to make more than $450,000,000 worldwide and spawn another sequel slated for 2011.

Here is the trailer for the Tom Cruise-Cameron Diaz action/comedy, Knight and Day, coming July 2, 2010.

Well, apparently someone doesn’t want this trailer be to be embedded, I checked 4 or 5 others and those were disabled as well. Sorry about that, but at least you can click the link and view on YouTube.com

I must have watched 10 Things I Hate About You 50+ times over the years and it never gets old. And of course with the passing of Heath Ledger it took on another angle seeing a great talent in his first Hollywood role, one that would catapult him into fame, a status he took seriously taking the road less traveled rather than going after the easy dollar doing more teen comedies. And that makes 10 Things even more special.

It’s finally here, the trailer we’ve all been waiting for: THE KARATE KID remake! Woot woot. Ok, I’m intrigued because of Jackie Chan, still won’t get me into the theater, however…
